Roofers in Hythe

The oldest part of Hythe climbs a steep hill towards a Norman parish church, and the medieval and Georgian buildings on that slope carry roofs that were never laid flat, true or square by modern standards. Small, irregular roof planes, awkward abutments and difficult access are normal here, and so is a covering that has to be matched rather than simply replaced. Below the hill the town runs out flat towards the seafront and the edge of Romney Marsh, where exposure takes over: very little shelters this stretch of coast, and driving rain combined with salt finds any covering laid at a marginal pitch. Between the two sit ordinary Victorian and twentieth-century houses. It is a small town holding three separate roofing problems. We cover Hythe, Sandgate, Dymchurch and the marsh villages to the west.
