Folkestone’s harbour, the Leas and Shorncliffe
Three streams of work. The harbour and seafront carry regeneration and commercial pours. The streets above the Leas carry period property under conversion, where the work is floors, small bases and structural reinstatement inside buildings that were built as single houses. And the former Shorncliffe garrison land carries substantial modern development, with footings, oversite slabs and driveways at new-build scale.

From the cliff top down to the harbour
The descent from the cliff top to the harbour zig-zags, and it does so on roads that were laid out for a very different kind of traffic. In the creative quarter some of the lanes are stepped and cobbled, which means they are barrow-only and no vehicle of any size is getting near the pour.
Those two facts set the domestic and small commercial pattern in old Folkestone: mini-mix to get as close as the road allows, then a barrow run or a line pump for the last part. On the Shorncliffe land the pattern is the opposite. Roads are wide and modern, a full mixer reaches the work, and a boom pump has room to set up where the pour sits away from the road.
