Ready-mix concrete for floors in Dover
Dover's floor work sits at the two extremes of the town's topography: large, flat industrial floors around the port, and small floors in buildings part way up a hillside. Kent Readymix arranges ready-mix concrete for floors across Dover, and the delivery for one has nothing in common with the other.

Port unit floors and hillside store floors
Around the harbour and the roads feeding it, floors are commercial and substantial: unit and warehouse slabs, workshop floors, and floors carrying plant and vehicle traffic, poured on flat ground where the vehicle can reach the building and successive loads can queue.
At Buckland, Tower Hamlets and the slopes towards the Western Heights the same service means something small. Garage and store floors, a re-laid ground floor in a terraced house, a workshop floor in an outbuilding, all in buildings that sit above or below the road they are reached from.
Placing a floor above or below the vehicle
A floor is poured into a building that already exists, so the concrete has to get through an opening, and on a Dover hillside the opening is rarely level with the vehicle.
That changes the answer twice. If the building sits below the road, gravity works for a chute and against the people placing the concrete, and a floor arriving faster than it can be spread and levelled is a finishing problem. If it sits above, no chute reaches it at all and the material has to be lifted.
Underneath both is the standing question. A fully loaded mixer holding a slope on a narrow hillside street has one safe position at best, and it has to hold it for the whole placement because a floor cannot be paused.
A line pump answers most of it. It runs through the opening, places the concrete at the far corner of the floor and lets the work come back towards the door, and it lets the vehicle stand where it is safe rather than where the floor happens to be. At the port none of this arises and a full mixer discharges to the opening.
Getting a Dover floor arranged
Send the floor area and thickness, whether the building sits above or below the road, and where a vehicle could safely stand. Your quotation, delivery and payment are agreed directly with the approved supplier appointed to your pour.
Send the detail to hello@kentreadymix.co.uk and an approved supplier will confirm the mix, the volume and the delivery window.
