What a gradient does to a slab discharge
A chute is a fixed arm that runs concrete off the back of a mixer under gravity, and gravity is exactly what a Dover slope changes. If the slab is below the vehicle, concrete arrives faster than it can be spread and levelled. If it is above, the chute does not reach it at all and the material has to be lifted rather than dropped.
